Kōji Uno (宇野 浩二 Uno Kōji? , July 26, 1891 - September 21, 1961) used to be a famous eastern novelist and brief tale writer.

On the first night, the Politeama was nearly sold out. I remember clearly that when the play began I had a few minutes’ suspense, in which I said to myself: “ This could still be either a triumph or a flop. ” And in fact I didn’t have to wait long. I won’t say I thought the play was bad. Without denying that it’s rich in lofty epic moments, I felt it was less a tragedy than a dramatic poem, very literary no doubt, and quite boring. The hero’s situation certainly provoked anxiety, but the plot loses momentum when the author unexpectedly in­ serts a love story, which is as unbelievable as it is stupid.
